The Via Ferrata in Red River Gorge Kentucky was the 1st in the US, still one of few. The climb is a must do in Kentucky and something most will never experience! Even beginners & older kids can experience this bucket list climbing sport. No experience is required, training is provided. There are various levels of difficulty to meet your experience, ability & comfort. I’ll tell you what you need to know and need to bring, what to expect, and my top tips.
The climb is located in the Red River Gorge, which is well-known as a top rock climbing destination in the world. There are traditional rock climbing & rappelling options, available here, too. The Via Ferrata climb is one of the harder things we’ve done. Also, one of the most rewarding. And the unbelievable views are worth the climb! If you want to walk a little on the wild side, push yourself mentally & physically, and see what you can do, make the trip! It’s a unique opportunity in the US, many have never heard of it, and the best kept secret in Kentucky!
